I had minor surgery before which the hospital took nose groin and throat swabs. I got a letter a week later saying I MRSA was found in my nose and throat and that before my next hospital admission I would need to have a surgical scrub anf nasal ointment. that was maybe 2 months ago and now I have developed 2 boils. I went to the doctors and she said they would just clear up but took a swab anyway. MRSA was found to be from the boils but she still said I shouldn't have the 'decontamination' type treatment for months until I go back to the hospital. When I 'decontaminate' will I be free from MRSA? also if I have had these boils now, does it mean I am more likely to get them in the future? Its just really horrible at the moment as I feel like I'm going to get trillions more boils that are going to scar
MRSA can kill you without appropriate treatment. my daughter just had it in her toes–and it has taken a long time for them to heal. The boils do NOT sound good!
